What: 2007 Texas State Conference on Autism

The Texas State Conference on Autism is a statewide conference for parents, school personnel and other professionals working with individuals with Autism. The conference is sponsored by the Texas Education Agency and has been coordinated by the Education Service Center, Region 2 for more than a decade and provides opportunities for parents and professionals in response to legislative dictates. The State Conference on Autism focuses on providing information to parents and professionals based on current research and best practice in instructional strategies from across the nation.
The 16th annual conference will be held in Corpus Christi, Texas at the Omni Hotel and the American Bank Center on September 6-8, 2007. Participants will have the opportunity to hear nationally and internationally recognized speakers as well as speakers from around Texas who will present information concerning individuals with Autism. The focus of the conference continues to strive toward one goal: to provide participants with information in order that persons with autism be given the best educational opportunities at school, home, and in the community.
The biggest achievement of the State Conference on Autism is the networking opportunities it provides for parents, students and professionals. Each is afforded the opportunity to hear new ideas and new ways to work collaboratively to meet the needs of these unique individuals.
