April is World Autism Awareness Month. Communities around the world spread awareness during this month by recognizing individuals with Autism and their unique contributions to society. Additionally, persons with Autism, their families, friends, and teachers often advocate for research, services, and the spread of information related to Autism. The goal is to light up the world with kindness. You can participate in World Autism Month by:
- Wearing Blue
- Reading stories written by individuals with Autism here and then sharing them with friends and family members.
- Posting resources (like the Texas Statewide Leadership in Autism Training website) on social media
- Learning about Autism Research
- Registering for the Texas Autism Conference (https://txautism.net/liveevents )
The ESC2 is dedicated to providing equitable educational programming to students with Autism within our schools. Our upcoming speaker series provides low-cost training from national experts on how to provide high-quality academic instruction, behavior intervention, and social skills training for students with ASD and related disabilities.
